Caught on Video: When Insurance Ducks Attack

Instead of a thought-provoking or well-written piece, here is a video of my pet duck attacking my dog. Aflac escaped from the back yard while my son was moving bags of sand through his gate, and took advantage of the situation to exact vengeance on his nemesis, Xavier, whom we believe to be part lab, part Corgi and part imbecile.

If you are new here: please check my archives if you were looking for content loftier than aggressive waterfowl.

I updated my blogroll, eliminating blogs from which I have slowly drifted apart, and adding a slew of new ones. I have attempted to include everyone in the whole tribe who hang out in my little space here regularly (or everyone who hangs out and comments anyway, because otherwise I don't know you're here)–all of you talented, varied bloggers.

If I forgot you, even though you are often here, leaving comments (how rude of me!), or misspelled your blog's name, or put the wrong little blurb under the name (I guessed.), then please send me a politely corrective email at tara [at] faithinambiguity [dot] com.

I will try to keep this updated. Word to your mother. (I'm sorry. I have just always wanted to end a written communication that way.)

  1. You have a very patient pooch!

I need to update my blogroll, too. I think some folks on there have traded blogging for romping in the sunshine and I'm sure I've neglected to add some who should be listed.

    1. I put it on my calendar to update it once a month. Hopefully, that will keep it super-manageable. :)

  2. Word. And that suck ... er, duck ... is funny. I wonder how Aflac would do with MIA from the Lazy W. ;-)

    1. Aflac is hilarious. We adopted him because he had to be re-homed after terrorizing some hens at his previous residence. He has had it in for my dog ever since he has been here and provoked him through the gate that separates their yards multiple times a day. The fact that our dog outweighs him by a ratio of five to one does not bother Aflac. The fact that the dog leave little divets in his bill does not bother him. He is a wonder. I wonder how he'd do with MIA...

  3. I've always maintained that ducks are evil. I do believe Aflac is not bettering my opinion of waterfowl!!!

I got butterflies in my stomach seeing PP on your Blogroll. So exciting, and am so grateful, and happy you think I take "amazing images". (: *more butterflies*

I agree with Word Nerd .. one more thing I forget to update ...

    1. Your blog is beautiful, Larissa! It deserves more than a little link on my blog roll for sure. And your photos are just gorgeous. So is your writing, but your photos stand out to me more, I guess, because I don't know how to take beautiful photos.

    1. Aflac is the only one of our ducks to chase the dog or us. He is ornery. Very ornery. Kinds like a mini-goose, now that you mention it. My son named him Duck William Aflac the Third. (?)

  5. It's amazing how gentle Xavier was with the dog. If you'll excuse me, I hear Vanilla Ice's music calling my name.

  6. That video just broke my heart a little. In the immortal words of a famous Angeleno, can we all just get along?

Thanks for including me in the blog roll, I am HONORED! Truly thrilled to belong in your little group :)
